Al Jamaa al Islamiya condemns the al-Qiddissin Church bombing

The al Jamaa al Islamiya condemns the attack that targeted the al-Qiddissin church in Alexandria leaving dozens of innocent Christians and Muslims dead and injured.

Al Jamaa al Islamiya believes no justification can be accepted for such a crime, whoever the doer is, because it contradicts the teachings of Islam, heavenly religions, values of justice and morality.

Any wise person knows about the basic principles of Sharia cannot say but "the explosion that hit the church and caused the death of a number of people is a crime that no religion can allow."

Islam has always protected the lives, money and worship places of non Muslims. Killing was never an aim in Islam or a solution for problems between Muslims and non Muslims. On the contrary, Sharia teaches to protect lives, spread security and solve problems between Muslims and their fellow citizens through dialogue and wisdom.

For all this the al Jamaa al Islamyia, who is sorry for the accident, condemns the suicide attack and considers it a violation of the Islamic teachings and principles of tolerance.

Accordingly, the al Jamaa al Islamyia sees the accident contradicts the rules of Islamic Sharia, which calls for justice and prohibits killing people for no reason "nor take the life which Allah hath forbidden save in (course of) justice" or murdering innocents for the fault of others " No laden soul will bear another's load."

Sharia forbids generalization of punishment for this is unfair. Islam has established the principle of "punishment is personal" centuries before the positive law.

In our religion it is not permitted to do injustice to any body, Muslim or non Muslim. In a hadith Qudsi, Allah says “My slaves, I have forbidden injustice to myself and have forbidden it between you so do not wrong each other”.

Islam has secured for non Muslims, living in Muslim majority countries, to perform their rites and celebrate their feasts in peace without being terrified.

When the al Jamaa al Islamyia criticizes negative stances of some Copts abroad this doesn't mean that we accept doing injustice to them or targeting their lives or their places of worship.

The al Jamaa al Islamyia has warned that the bad feelings caused by such negative stances will make it easy for al Qaeda to incite some young Muslims to carry out such attacks violating Sharia and neglecting the interests of their country. Those youth don't understand they are harming the national security of their home.

The al Jamaa al Islamyia calls for studying the reasons why such operations appeared again in Egypt after years of suspension.

We urge all Egyptians to unite to confront this sinful strategy which doesn't target non Muslims only but the unity and stability of our country.

The al Jamaa al Islamyia has called the state to solely control any sectarian conflict and make law the only arbitrator. We have stressed also that any Muslim or Christian group is not allowed to take the role of the state or decide whom to wage war against.

The critical situation we are in because of such blind bombings makes us urge wise Muslims and Christians to initiate a fruitful dialogue for the benefit of our country.

We ask Allah to keep Egypt safe and protect it from strife.
